Monday is Labor Day, which means NO SCHOOL. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day! We will see everyone on Tuesday! Please remember to check your kiddos planner and sign it daily. I will not be giving homework daily but will have important reminders in there. Thank you :) Weekly Curriculum -In Language Arts we will describe characters in our stories and will be explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events. -In Math we will use strategies and properties to add 3 digit numbers as well as round whole numbers. -In Science we will study the universe and the stars. -In Writing we will learn how to describe story elements through narrative writing. -In Social Studies we will define terms related to social sciences (history, geography, civics, government and economics). We are also looking at primary and secondary sources. A Few Reminders and Dates to Remember Monday ,September 3rd : Labor Day, NO School Friday, September 7th: Spelling test, Reading Log and Spelling homework due (3 assignments from the choices provided on the yellow paper). Friday, September 21st: Field trip to the Science Center. As a reminder, please remember to pack only healthy snacks and water for your child’s late afternoon snack time. Avoid cookies, candies, cakes or sweets; fruits, vegetables, pretzels, crackers etc… are healthy alternatives. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Sorry for the delay in the update. We have been working hard here in class, and I love seeing them work so hard. One thing I would love to encourage you all to speak with your kiddos about is to limit the talking during class time. They are missing information being given, and then not sure what to do. We have had such a great first week! I have loved getting to know all your kiddos, and I adore each and every one of them. I am excited to see what they will accomplish this year! All these are are assessments we are taking at the beginning of the year, and the end of the year to track growth. I have told them to not worry, but to do their best. It was so wonderful meeting you all last night at Open House! I felt very welcomed and I already adore your kiddos. I am very much looking forward to this year! Here is my first official weekly update. I will also be updating my website with the same information. Not much in this issue, but as the year goes on I will make sure to include important information for you guys to know as well as what we are working on in class. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to me. But if not, enjoy your last weekend of summer! We will see you all on Monday :) A few reminders - -Please bring a filled water bottle. -If you are not buying a school lunch please bring a full lunch. Everyone should also bring a snack for our Morning Snack. -Please remember to being all the paperwork necessary on Monday. -This year for dismissal you will be asked to either utilize the car circle, or you will need to fill out a walker permit which must be notarized and you can park in the temple parking lot (for a very short period of time) and the students will be walked across to the parking lot. There is absolutely NO walking up to pick up children from car line. If you have any questions, please see administration.
