If you haven’t signed up for a parent conference, please reach out to me so we can coordinate one! I will be out of town from October 24th through October 29th. Our great-grandfather is turning 100 so we are going up to Tennessee to celebrate. Music update by Mr. Meeks: This week in music we have started working with the recorders, please make sure your child remembers to bring his/her recorder to school on the day that they have music class. Recorders can still be ordered, just send the $5 cash to your child’s homeroom teacher with a note. Third grade has begun working with the tone bars to prepare for the winter program. Music listened to in class: “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. A Few Reminders and Dates to Remember
As a reminder, please remember to pack only healthy snacks and water for your child’s snack time. Please see the attached photo of our heroes! I am so proud of every, single one! Conferences have begun! It is not too late to sign up. Please keep in mind the 15 minute slot. Everyone so far has been super respectful of it, which I am so grateful to you! It gives us enough time to go over their progress thus far, and address any concerns. I am more than happy to schedule another time slot should you feel we need more time. So please forgive me if you feel like I am rushing you, I am not. We have gone over text features and how they can help us understand our texts. -In Math we have started to work with Multiplication and how it is related to addition. -In Science we will look at heat and light as energy sources. -In Writing we will learn how to describe story elements through narrative writing. -In Social Studies we are talking about communities and what it means to be a good citizen.
