Happy Friday!
Today, we remember the events of 9/11 which took place 19 years ago. I appreciate you all taking the time to speak with your kiddos about this day in our history this past week. It has been so interesting to hear all of the different stories and emotions that were felt that day. I told the class that I remember being in my 8th grade art class and just feeling very sad. It was hard to comprehend still being so young, but an event I continue to learn more about as I get older. It reminds me how proud I am to be an American. Even in the craziness of this world! I feel so honored to be a part of molding the future of our country :). We had a great week, even though it was shorter. Everyone is getting into a groove and understanding how things work and I am SO proud! Please let me know if there is anything I can help with. But know that you all are doing AMAZING! Our Motto of The Week: You are braver than you think, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think! Weekly Curriculum

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful 3 day weekend!! I just want to say THANK YOU so much for your support through this whole thing. I go home daily trying to think of ways to make this easier for everyone, because I know this is so hard. We have and will run into glitches here and there. I am finding some things work, and some do not. So I also greatly appreciate your flexibility. I think your kiddos are doing AMAZING. I am so proud of them and know that they will continue to grow. Please just do your best this week to complete the assignments. It was a learning week for the kiddos as far as what to expect and what our flow will look like. I want to just break it down for you as far as what to expect on a WEEKLY basis as far as assignments/homework. WEEKLY HOMEWORK- Each week on Friday I will hand out a new spelling list, and with that list the kiddos will complete 3 spelling activities to turn in the following Friday. I have posted in Google Classroom under "Homework" the activities they can choose from. They can submit either via SeeSaw or through the Google Classroom assignment. In addition to the spelling activities they will also submit a reading log. It will also be in the homework section on Google Classroom, and they can input and submit the log via Google Forms. WEEKLY SPELLING TEST- Each Friday the students will be tested on the spelling list given the previous week. The spelling activities throughout the week will help them prepare for the test. WEEKLY CENTER WORK- During the week they students will be working on centers choice boards for both ELA and for Math. Whenever they are not in a live meeting with me, they should be working on these centers. I will post a new choice board weekly. I have been advising the students to utilize their green composition notebooks to complete the work. On Fridays they will submit all the completed center items to me via SeeSaw (or email). In the event they finish early one day with their activities, they can work on something either READING or MATH related, depending on what subject we are in. There will be other assignments within all subjects, but I wanted to let you know what you can expect WEEKLY. I am attaching the schedule again for you to have and review. Also have the kiddos check their Google Calendar for Live Lessons and their links. Please let me know if you need further clarification! I want to make this as easy as possible for you.
