As we are winding down the year, I want to reflect and remind the kiddos the character traits we have been focusing on this year. We focus on one a month but I want to encourage them all to work on all of them every single day. We only have 30 days left together, so let us make them memorable :) "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Martin Luther King Jr. Sock Hop The PTO is excited to announce our upcoming Spring Sock Hop Dance on April 27th! While more details will come home soon, we are asking for your help. The dance this year, for both boys and girls, will have a silent auction to help raise money for classroom resources. We have compiled a wish list of items to help make these baskets. If you are able to get any of these items donated or are willing to purchase any, please sign up below and bring your donated items to the school no later than April 20th. Additionally, if you are artistically talented and would like to make an item, that would be wonderful. To donate an item not already included on the list, please choose "other." If you are in need of a letter on letterhead to procure a donation, please contact us at [email protected]. Please think about anyone you may know in the community who may be willing to help us out! On behalf of the Plato Academy Trinity PTO, we thank you for your support. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094fa4ad2aa0f94-sock Character Counts Monthly, students will learn about a new character trait. At the end of each month, one student from each classroom, whose behavior exemplifies the Character Trait of the Month, will be awarded a certificate and invited to the Character Breakfast with Mrs. Perez! It is Plato Academy’s expectation that as we continue to emphasize positive character traits we will only continue to improve. April's Character trait is Self-Control: Managing your emotions and choosing acceptable behavior. In Greek... Congratulations to our Greek Student of the Week....Carl!! We have also looked at how to make good decisions, and what our opportunity cost would be. We will continue these discussions and look at trading goods for services. We will be preparing for our quiz on Tuesday, April 17th. I will assign things on Moby Max for review. A few reminders - -Please bring a filled water bottle. -I would suggest having your kids bring a Plato approved sweater or jacket, it tends to get a little chilly in our room! -If you are not buying a school lunch please bring a full lunch. Everyone should also bring a snack for our Morning Snack. -Remember your placards for dismissal, we are not able to release your child without them. If you do not have it, please come in and show ID to Ms. Riley so we can release your child to you. -Please remember to bring your V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.folders every day.
