4/20/2018 0 Comments THANK YOU!Happy Friday!
I want to thank those who have donated pencils, erasers, and tissues! We seem to keep running low on those items so I GREATLY appreciate it. They are just working so hard :) Sock Hop The PTO is excited to announce our upcoming Spring Sock Hop Dance on April 27th! While more details will come home soon, we are asking for your help. The dance this year, for both boys and girls, will have a silent auction to help raise money for classroom resources. We have compiled a wish list of items to help make these baskets. ALL DONATIONS ARE DUE TODAY, April 20th. To donate an item not already included on the list, please choose "other." If you are in need of a letter on letterhead to procure a donation, please contact us at [email protected]. Please think about anyone you may know in the community who may be willing to help us out! On behalf of the Plato Academy Trinity PTO, we thank you for your support. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094fa4ad2aa0f94-sock Character Counts Monthly, students will learn about a new character trait. At the end of each month, one student from each classroom, whose behavior exemplifies the Character Trait of the Month, will be awarded a certificate and invited to the Character Breakfast with Mrs. Perez! It is Plato Academy’s expectation that as we continue to emphasize positive character traits we will only continue to improve. April's Character trait is Self-Control: Managing your emotions and choosing acceptable behavior. In Greek... Congratulations to our Greek Student of the Week....Anna!! Dates to remember- 4/24 & 4/25 - 3rd Grade Math FSA 4/27 - Progress Reports Distributed 4/27 - Trinity Sock Hop Dance Here is a peek at next week... Reading: We are starting a new unit with new texts! We will be reading about well-known figures from American history whose lifelong journeys have become legend. Writing: We have been talking about writing and what it is we need to be good authors. We have gone through the writing process and had fun sharing our stories with one another. We will continue to work with different, exciting prompts. Math: We will be taking our knowledge from working with numbers up to 1,000 and start adding them! They are ready for this challenge and I know they will do well with the different models and strategies we have to use. Science: We will continue our discussions on matter. As we look at the different states of matter, we will look at the different properties that make them up. Social Studies: We will be looking at how communities build a nation. We will refresh our memories on America's first peoples and how they have helped to build the nation we have today. A few reminders - -Please bring a filled water bottle. -I would suggest having your kids bring a Plato approved sweater or jacket, it tends to get a little chilly in our room! -If you are not buying a school lunch please bring a full lunch. Everyone should also bring a snack for our Morning Snack. -Remember your placards for dismissal, we are not able to release your child without them. If you do not have it, please come in and show ID to Ms. Riley so we can release your child to you. -Please remember to bring your V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.folders every day.
