Happy Monday! I am very much looking forward to our feast on Thursday!! Please note I will not have the ability to heat things up so keep that in mind. So far everything signed up for looks great! You are more than welcome to join us, however remember you need to be Level 2 to be able to come into the school. Looking forward to feasting with the kiddos! I LOVE to decorate for the holidays, and would LOVE some decoration donations :) If you have any you would like to donate to decorate for the upcoming holidays, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thank you so much for the donations I have received thus far! Our character trait this month is Citizenship, which is being law abiding and involved in service to school, community and country. We went over ways to be a good citizen. Let us encourage one another to show good citizenship! Weekly Curriculum · In Language Arts we will continue reading the text called The Year of Miss Agnes. We will look at character and main idea. · In Math we are starting Topic 3, which we will be learning more factors to build on our multiplication skills. · In Science we will finish up studying plants and take an open book quiz at the end of the week. · In Writing we are working on writing strong introductions to our essays. · In Social Studies we will look at the early Native Americans of our nation and discuss the first Thanksgiving. Music update by Mr. Meeks: This week we have been working hard on getting ready for the upcoming winter program on December 18. Students have been learning their music and becoming better singers. We are also continuing to learn our recorder notes, so please make sure that your child has a recorder. If they need to purchase one, they are still available for a cost of $5 cash. Music listened to in class this week: “A Night in Tunisia” Dizzy Gillespie; “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King; “I Wanna be Like You” from The Jungle Book A Few Reminders and Dates to Remember · Every Tuesday: Pizza money due. $2 per slice. · Every Friday: Ice cream day, $1. · Book Fair This Week! November 12-16 · Wednesday, November 14th, Great American Teach In. Please use the following link Great American Teach In Registration to volunteer for this event. · Thursday, November 15th: Native American Vests are due. · Thursday, November 15th: Thanksgiving Feast :) · November 17-25: Thanksgiving Break As a reminder, please remember to pack only healthy snacks and water for your child’s snack time. Avoid cookies, candies, cakes or sweets; fruits, vegetables, pretzels, crackers etc.… are healthy alternatives. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
